I'm sitting in the airport in Dallas waiting for my next flight thinking about my flight just one week ago to Houston. My flight from Jackson hole was cancelled and so I had to fly to Denver, then back to Salt Lake, then to Dallas and finally to Houston. It was a grey long day. This morning I got up at five to get ready, pack and be on the road again. It literally takes one day to go and one day to return, one very long day both ways actually. I'm so lucky. I have the greatest husband. Rick is driving to Salt Lake ( four hours). To pick me up because my connecting flight to Jackson Hole, WY, isn't until after 8 tonight. This way I can be home by 6pm instead of 10 pm It's such a relief. I hate sitting in airports for more than 3 hours if possible. I heard that we have snow now in WY. I love the snow, I just hate driving on the roads. I'm thinking it probably won't stick long until the end of this month. It's okay, I have plenty of quilting to do in my studio and my freezer is full. I also keep thinking of all the lovely Quilters I met this last week. I feel so blessed to have so many friends in my life And they are all such hard workers and very creative, they inspire me to be better in every way.

Well, it has been quite a week getting ready for the classes in Houston.  My family (6 out of 10) all came down with the flu Sunday night except for me and my daughter, Tiffany.  Then Tiffany and I were sick starting Tuesday night. It is AWFUL stuff. Now the 5 year old and the baby (1 1/2) have strept throat as well.  I feel so fortunate that I was able to take care of everyone and still pretty much get packed before I got sick.  I think the flu shot must have helped some because I feel like I have recovered more quickly than those who opted NOT to get the shot.

I'm excited for the classes next week and I feel like it will be a vacation for me. This will also be the first time as a judge for this show, so that will be interesting also.  I'm sure you can't please everyone and others will be so excited.

I have to leave at 4:30 in the morning to get my flight out of Jackson Hole, then Salt Lake to Dallas and finally Houston at 7pm.   It will be a very long day after an illness.

I made some new samples for my technical skills class today to show how important it is to stitch in the ditch. Can't wait to show my students.

This will be the first time I will be able to see my 2 new show quilts finished with all the crystals that Cheri Meineke-Johnson has been working on; please visit the Swavorski exhibit if you get to Houston!

I had a wonderful opportunity this summer to travel to Castletown, Ireland, and teach at the European Machine Quilters Showcase (EMQS). Beryl Cadman is the organizer of this event and does an excellent job. We are all grateful for this wonderful venue for quilters all over Europe.
