Sue Patten is here filming her DVDs

I've had an incredibly fun time the last 3 days. Sue Patten and Jon are here and Sue is filming her new DVDs (which will also be posted on the quilting school for members).  We always have a great time when she comes to visit. We laugh so much and they are just like family. Of course, we all eat too much too!  Sue's DVD's are going to be so good; she has so much knowledge to share she has gained over her quilting career.  And they both get along so well with Wendy.

Wendy is very excited because today they are bringing her oxygen and breathing machine so she will be able to sleep at night. She knows that it helps her sleep.  She was only getting about 4 minutes of REM per night, so this should really help her not be so tired all day long (and a little cranky at times).  We are thinking it will also help us not be so cranky when she gets cranky, so all around a very good thing.

Before Sue started filming, I was able to get another project ready for the quiltingschool.com.  It is called "delectable mountains."   It is a really cute little quilt, can't wait to finish it on the show next week.

I've been thinking about how important it is to stabilize the quilt before the designs are set in the blocks or areas. I wish I had taken pictures of all the quilts I have seen over the years that could have been so much better if they had been stabilized. My next DVD will be on this subject for sure - Technical Skills.

So glad to hear Wendy will be getting some help sleeping. Lack of sleep is really bad for your health and for those around you!

I've taken 3 classes with Sue and she's a riot as welll as a good teacher with so much to offer.

I look forward to watching the videos. Even if it is material I've seen before it will be worth the refresher.

I agree with Jessie, it would be awesome to have a longarm back in the room at the end of the day. The students could go to their rooms and play with all the new designs and concepts that they learned in classes and the teachers could back to their rooms and get some personal quilting done lol. Maybe Linda can arrange that as a perk when you sign up for classes lol Jon and I had so much fun while we were filming, we worked so hard from early morning till dinner but then it was like we were away visiting family and the nights were filled with great food, great conversation, and a great sense of belonging. We can't wait to go back again sometime this summer.
