Stories from the past

Spent Friday with my Father, hearing the stories of his youth.  We drove around Salt Lake looking at places that he lived at when he was a boy.  The best part was the stories, my Dad’s experiences are wonderful.

How about you, what are your stories from the past.  I need to tell my own stories to our sons.  My sister has a sign in her kitchen that says, “it is the moments that we remember”.  I want my children to have those memorable moments too.  What are your childhood memories that you want to share with your children?

This is a picture of my Grandparents first home they purchased in the 1930’s.  There was ½ acre and the first purchase they made was a milk cow.  Maybe that is why I think I need a miniature Jersey cow.  But that is another story…

I love, love, love to make things. One of the first gifts that my husband gave me was a set of calligraphy pens and instructions that he purchased when he lived in Ireland for two years. That gift has been the wonderful foundation for my everything fiber/paper/ink obsession. On our 10th anniversary he gave me a spinning wheel and on our 15th anniversary a harp. He is a great gift giver and I am thankful for the bounty that I have been blessed with.
