HOW TO USE: Workshops
Purpose: Explanation of how to access, view and participate in the Workshops.
Difficulty: Easy NOTE: Workshops are more that simply videos to watch at your leisure. They are meant to active participation on the part of the student. Many workshops have accompanying workbooks (some are free downloads, but others are printed and available at a fee). The student will be often created a project along with the videos and workbooks. We strongly encourage active participation and interaction with the teacher via the forums and chat room. There are two types of workshops: 1) Online Classroom This material can be consumed at the student's pace - be it all at once or over many months. All existing content is made available to a student as soon as he or she has an active membership to the site. Also, new content is often added to existing workshops over time. This area simply requires an active annual or monthly site subscription.
2) Block of the Month This type of workshop is a true Block of the Month. Each student is given access to sections every 30 days. Therefore each site member will have access to content at different times. Once content has been made available to a student, then that content will remain available for review as long as the student's site subscriptions is active. This area not only requires an active annual or monthly site subscription, but also requires a secondary subscription (which is free) to the specific workshop. This sets to start date which determines the release date of future monthly content.
To access a workshop:
Step 1: Click on the 'Workshops' menu item at the top of any page. A list of all workshops are displayed. Scroll down to view each workshop banner. Step 2: Click on the workshop title or banner to go to enter the workshop. The workshop title page is displayed, listed important details like: Needed materials, complete description and links to workshop forums and video lessons. Step 3: Click on the 'View Video Lessons' icon-link. As long as you have an active subscription, the list of video lessons is displayed. Each video lesson may have associated links to down-loadable material and/more links to purchase materials needed for the lesson.
