| I love, love, love to make things. One of the first gifts that my husband gave me was a set of calligraphy pens and instructions that he purchased when he lived in Ireland for two years. That gift has been the wonderful foundation for my everything fiber/paper/ink obsession. On our 10th anniversary he gave me a spinning wheel and on our 15th anniversary a harp. He is a great gift giver and I am thankful for the bounty that I have been blessed with.

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Humanities at Brigham Young University in 2002. I started that degree in 1975 at Ricks College in Rexburg, ID, taking a 20+ year break while we raised our five very active sons. I was teaching high school students religion courses and wanted to explore the art of illumination. It was then that I enrolled in my first book arts course. For me, book arts illuminates my entire soul. I LOVE MAKING BOOKS. That class has led to making more books, teaching book arts as a university adjunct professor while earning a Masters degree at Idaho State University in Education with an emphasis on Literacy. During that time, I learned the art of long-arm quilting. Long-arm quilting is another passion that I love. I am currently studying at the University of Wyoming, earning a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Family Literacy. Quilting, Book Arts and Family Literacy are my professional passions. I have been a professional book artist for over 10 years. Making books, long-arm quilting, and teaching for me is like opening Christmas presents all of the time, it is way too much fun! Create Everyday.Click here to view Victoria's Book Art Workshop
